Kenosha’s Grill Games BBQ Contest and Lakefront Festival, August 28 and 29 at Celebration Place on Kenosha’s lakefront, promises to be fun for the entire family. Most people know about the exciting entertainment, which includes great music and grilling competitions. Plus, who doesn’t like barbeque? At Grill Games BBQ Contest and Lakefront Festival there are many food options, including many designed to make the festival a whole lot of fun for the children in your family as well as mom and dad.

For the kids, there is a Family Fun Area that will feature a wide variety of games for kids of all ages.

Four Midway games lead the lineup where your children can test their skills for fun prizes.

In addition, children will have fun playing on the Bounce Ride, Screamer Slide and Wacky World.

For the more competitive children, Grill Games BBQ Contest and Lakefront Festival will feature small and large obstacle courses and a rock wall.

Wristbands for the Family Fun Area are $15 for one day in advance (online or from the YMCA) or $20 the day of the event. Those planning on attending both Friday and Saturday can get a further price break by purchasing a child’s two-day wristband for $25 in advance or $30 at the festival.

The atmosphere on Kenosha’s lakefront will be conducive to families of all sizes.

Kids like BBQ, but in addition to that there are many other options for fun food from local vendors.

Some of these include cheese curds, chocolate chip cookies, and lemonade slushies from Wisconsin Fried Cheese Curds.

Kona Ice will be there with their popular shaved ice, an especially big hit on those hot August days in Kenosha.

The Brat Shop will feature a variety of sandwiches popular with both adults and children, including hamburgers, fries and nachos.

Reid’s Roasted will feature a number of different corn-related delicacies.

Dickey’s Barbeque Pit will be selling their delicious pork sandwich plates, including one designed for the kiddies in attendance.

It will all be in the great atmosphere of music on Kenosha’s lakefront, just east of the Civil War Museum. Admission to the event is free.
